Spmp305x wiki
At the moment, a few MP3/MP4/game-players are available on the market which are very cheap and use an, undocumented, Sunplus SPMP305X-processor. This wiki exists to unravel the secrets surrounding that chip. Specs for the chip can be found on the sunplus website. (currently down, links to internet archive)
If you want to buy one of these mp3/mp4-players, DealExtreme has them for US$ 33.97 with free worldwide shipping.
Some of those SPMP305x-implementations (we suppose that the SPMP3052-based players, this is yet to be confirmed) can run a form of games called a '32-bit format game', which are distinguished from (emulated) GB/NES-games by having a '.bin'-extention. The wiki development will, at first, be focused on these files, which basically are ARM binaries with a header prepended.
If you want to join in the decyphering of the secrets of this chip, please subscribe to the Электронный документооборот mailing-list.
